Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone arrived at a courthouse in Munich on Thursday morning to face bribery charges.

The charges involve a $44 million payment to a German banker who is already serving an eight-year sentence for accepting the money.

Prosecutors allege the money was a bribe, to ensure the sale of a stake in the F1 business, to a company Ecclestone favoured.

Ecclestone continues to run the F1 business on a day-to-day basis, but faces a prison term of up to 10 years if convicted of the charges.
