The final weekend of the Bobsleigh World Cup season was held in Konigssee in Germany on Saturday.

The Canadian team of Justin Kripps and Bryan Barnett recorded the fastest total time; 1.39.71.

This is 27-year-old Kripps' first win in 2014.

Switzerland's Beat Hefti and team-mate Alex Baumann finished in second place, 0.15 seconds off the pace.

Hefti is a carpenter by trade and he'll be aiming to build on his three Winter Olympics gold medals in Sochi next month.

Third place was won by Lyndon Rush and Lascelles Brown in 1.40.03 to earn Canada another podium spot.

The World Cup title went to American Steven Holcomb after he finished the campaign with 1,645 points.

Hefti was 35 points behind and came second overall, with Russia's Alexander Zubkov claiming third.

European gold was more to Hefti's liking, with his teammate Rico Peter taking silver and Oskars Melbardis of Latvia securing bronze.
