Martins Dukurs wins Skeleton World Cup championship

    Martins Dukurs, 29, beat his older brother Tomass, 32, to record his fifth straight overall Skeleton World Cup championship in the final race of the season in Königssee, Germany on Saturday.

    There've been many successful sporting brothers: Jack and Sir Bobby Charlton, Jamie and Andy Murray and Vitali and Vladamir Klitschko.

    The sibling rivalry continued in the Skeleton World Cup in Konigssee in Germany on Saturday when Martins Dukurs defeated his older brother Tomass.

    29-year-old Martins won in a time of 1.40.83 to clinch his fifth straight overall Skeleton World Cup championship in the final race of the season.

    Tomass is three years Martins' senior but he was 0.82 seconds slower in second. The Latvian has achieved ten podium positions in 2014.

    Occupying third place was Germany's Frank Rommel who recorded a total time of 1.41.73.
