As the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup moved to Poland, there was good news regarding Thomas Morganstern.

The Austrian's left the Salzburg hospital, where he's been treated for skull and lung injuries following his crash last week in Tauplitz.

Peter Prevc was the winner in Tauplitz and the Slovenian was again catching the eye in Wisla.

He was almost too good in the first round, running out of hill on the way to producing a leap of 140.5 metres - the biggest of the day.

But that shaky landing cost him dearly, as he was punished in the style marks to lie 13th at the interval.

In front of his home crowd, Kamil Stoch was looking to increase his lead over Gregor Schlierenzauer in the overall standings.

Fifth at the break, he went top with 261.9 points.

Andreas Wellinger. third after the first round, overhauled Stoch.

The German opened with a 127.0-metre effort worth 130.4 points.

His second was 128.5 metres. Not the biggest flyer - but the style points were superb.

His 262.8 points, too much for Michael Hayboeck.

261.2 points for the Austrian - he slipped into third behind Stoch.

Now it all came down to another Pole, Jan Ziobro.

Looking to add to his victory in Engelberg, he could only manage a disappointing 126.0-metres, slipping to sixth.

A first World Cup success then for Wellinger - Stoch though another big winner on the day, increasing his overall advantage from 11 to 59 points.
