Felix Neureuther of Germany comes back from seventh after the first run to win the FIS World Cup men's giant slalom in Adelboden, Switzerland on Saturday (11th January) - it was Neureuther's first victory in the discipline, and seventh career World Cup win overall, after he edged out Thomas Fanara of France by 0.10-of-a-second, while Marcel Hirscher of Austria came third.

The FIS World Cup men's giant slalom took place in Adelboden in Switzerland on Saturday.
Henrik Kristoffersen of Norway had a near miss, almost colliding with a course worker who strayed on the track. He started again and finished 21st after the first run.
German Felix Neureuther was only seventh fastest in the morning but benefited from fading sunshine in the afternoon to finish 0.10 ahead of first-run leader Thomas Fanara of France, for his second successive victory in 2014..
Thomas Fanara, finished second, much to the delight of Neureuther.
Marcel Hirscher of Austria was third, 0.19 behind Neureuther's combined time of two minutes, 34.60 seconds.
Hirscher earned 60 race points to extend his lead in the GS discipline standings.
Ted Ligety of the United States, who was sitting third, skied out when poised to take the lead after being rocked by a bump approaching a gate midway down.
