Aaron Blunck, 17, of the United States won the FIS Freestyle World Cup halfpipe at Copper Mountain, in the USA on Friday. In the women's event, fellow American Brita Sigourney was victorious. On Saturday, Switzerland's Marianne Kaufmann-Abderhalden finished first in the women's World Cup downhill skiing race at Val d'Isère, France.

The FIS Freestyle World Cup halfpipe took place in the USA on Friday.
The men's event was won by 17-year-old Aaron Blunck, who prevailed after posting a second run score of 92.00 points.
Reigning world champion Kevin Rolland of France was the first run leader in the men's event but had to be content with second spot after failing to better his opening score of 90.20 points.
Blunck's American team mate Gus Kenworthy was third with 90.00 points.
America's women continued their country's domination of the halfpipe when Brita Sigourney finished first with a highest mark of 86.60 points.
Her USA counterpart Maddie Bowman came second after a score of 83.20 points.
Claiming third place was France's Marie Martinod after notching up 78.80 points.
In France, the women's World Cup downhill skiing race got underway at Val d'Isère on Saturday.
Tiger Woods was in the finish area to watch his partner Lindsey Vonn in action but she lost her balance and skied off course.
Switzerland's Marianne Kaufmann-Abderhalden was more successful and she won the competition in a time of 1 minute, 47.28 seconds.
Defending overall champion Tina Maze of Slovenia was runner-up with a time of 1 minute, 47.57 seconds, just 0.30 seconds away from victory.
Cornelia Huetter of Austria took third by clocking a time of 1 minute, 47.80 seconds.
