There were plenty of thrills and spills on offer for snowboarding fans as the final of the World Cup snowboard cross team events were staged in Telluride, Colorado

Heavy snowfall made conditions tricky for the women's team race but Canada's Dominique Maltais and Maelle Ricker were able to cope as they took gold with the lowest combined time score.

Maltais and Ricker, the 2010 Olympic champion, were too strong for the field, defeating Switzerland's Simona Meiler and Emilie Aubry, who finished in second place.

In the men's race only one team looked like they were going to claim the top honour, with Seth Wescott and X Games Champion Nate Holland teaming up to give America a great chance of gold on home turf.

The pair dominated the heats and semi final, and the final proved to be no different as they stormed to victory, Wescott completing the double after winning gold in the individual competition.

Italy's Emanuel Perathoner and Tommaso Leoni had to settle for second place.
