Tina Maze of Slovenia won her fourth successive World Cup giant slalom race at Courchevel in France on Sunday to extend her overall lead at the top of the standings.

The race was held despite heavy snowfall and the Stade Emile-Allais course was hard and bumpy, with poor visibility for the first run. And defending champion Lindsey Vonn had another disappointing day and failed to finish, after struggling to adapt to the conditions.

Kathrin Zettel made a better go of it, and was leading for a while after this, her second run

Tessa Worley cheered on by the French crowd managed a good time in her second run as well, eventually finishing in the third place.

But the day belonged to Tina Maze who comfortably saw off the competition to win with a score of 2 minutes, 16.84 seconds, as Zettell had to settle for 2nd place.
