The home crowd cheered Sweden to victory as they recovered to beat Norway 8-5 in the final of the European Championships in Karlstad.

After the third end, Sweden were losing 2-1.

But some tenacious play saw them eventually pull away to win by three.

Sweden's skip Niklas Edin said he was 'happy' with his team's performance.

SOUNDBITE (English) Niklas Edin, Skip, Sweden: "I am really proud of my team. We had some really good shots when we really needed them. At the end there was no easy mistakes and we really controlled the end when we got the lead so I am really happy about my team's performance and it feels really good."

And Norway were gracious in defeat.

SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Ulsrud, Skip, Norway: "It is never good losing but if I am going to lose to someone then it is ok losing to Niklas (Edin). They played good all week. I think for the first half of the final we had them a bit going but after the break they were all over us and well done to the Swedish boys."

The Czech Republic were third after beating Denmark in the bronze medal match on Friday.
