Flisar and Smith take gold in FIS Freestyle Ski race

    Slovenia's Filip Flisar won gold in the FIS men's Freestyle Ski race in Colorado on Thursday, with Switzerland's Fanny Smith taking the honour's in the women's.

    Script:

    Slovenia's Filip Flisar won the the FIS Freestyle Ski race in Colorado.

    He beat Canada's Brady Leman, Jean Frederick Chapuis from France and Switzerland's Armin Niederer on the outside.

    Flisar did well to take the first corner and from then on it was his race to lose.

    He crossed the line to take gold, with Leman taking silver and Niederer the bronze.

    Niederer however, is still the man to catch as he heads the overall standings with 160 points.

    In the women's event, Switzerland's Fanny Smith was in the first lane, with France's Ophelie
    David beside her and Sweden's Anna Holmlund and Canada's Kelsey Serwa outside.

    A determined Smith took the first corner with Holmlund in close pursuit.

    Although Smith crossed the finish for gold, David pipped Holmlund for silver, and the Swede had to settle for bronze.

    Smith and David top the standings with 200 and 160 points respectively.

    Holmlund is third on 120 points.
