It's bobsleigh time in Germany - a week of world cup action reached its conclusion with the four-man event.

Oskars Melbardis steered Latvia 1 around the Winterberg run in 55.18 seconds for a combined mark of one minute, 50.41 seconds.

Thomas Florschuetz with Germany 1 and Switzerland 2's Beat Hefti failed to better that mark.

However, Latvia 1 were finally displaced by Russia 1 - World Cup leader Alexander Zubkov moving into position for his fourth win from as many events this season.

Russia 1 completed their second run in 55.02 seconds for a combined time of one minute, 50.06 (seconds).

Leaders after the first run, Maximilian Arndt and Germany 3 looked to spoil Zubkov's perfect record.

Germany 3 were slower than Russia 1 in each sector though and their second run time of 55.24 seconds saw them settle for second place with a combined time of one minute, 50.25 (seconds).

USA 1 finished down in sixth place, so Zubkov extended his lead over nearest rival Steve Holcomb to 112 points in the World Cup standings.
