The fifth stop of Nascar's Chase for the Sprint Cup championship took off from Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina on Saturday night.

Greg Biffle started from the pole and took the field to the green flag with Mark Martin alongside him.

Early in the 334 lap race, Matt Kenseth took a spin in turn four to bring out the first caution.

Just as the green flag was coming out on the restart on lap 15, Jeff Burton and David Ragan crashed on the frontstretch.

Tony Stewart also caught in the mishap.

Nearly 100 laps in, Johnson dove under Keselowski for the lead between turns 3 and 4.

With just under 60 laps to go, Keselowski ran out of gas on the backstretch allowing Clint Bowyer to grab the lead going into turn three. Shorty after, Bowyer gave up the lead to make a pit stop.

After a round of pit stops with just over 50 laps left, Biffle took over the point with Kyle Busch close behind in second.

When Biffle pitted for fuel with 23 laps remaining, Bowyer regained the lead.

Bowyer held off the hard-charging Denny Hamlin the rest of the way to claim his third victory of the season.

Hamlin finished second and is third in the Chase, 15 points back. Johnson finished third.
