  • Intro:

Postgame reaction after the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers 3-2 on Wednesday (16 May) to level the Eastern Conference Finals at one game a piece.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) Peter DeBoer, New Jersey Devils head coach:

"Our overall game is much better, I thought we established our forecheck right off the bat in the first period, and we are creating zone time and chances. I think in the second a couple of the penalties took us out of it and they regained some momentum with a couple power play goals but we felt that if we could play five on five and stick with it we were going to get rewarded and that's what happened."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Zach Parise, New Jersey Devils captain:

"It's so different when you get a late goal, takes a little out of them.. Going into the third, gives us a little lift. They are really good in the third when they have the lead, we have seen that in the whole postseason. That's a huge goal for us, timely goal, great for those guys to get it.

SOUNDBITE (English) Ryan Callahan, New York Rangers captain:

"We have been in this situation before, we have to go into Jersey and try to get that next game. We can't get down, like I said, we have been in this situation before and we've come through so we just have to, got a day off tomorrow, and then get ready to work Friday."
