Intro:

China's women managed a clean sweep in the Women's Aerials at the Freestyle World Cup event in Myrkdalen-Voss, Norway on Saturday (17th March).

Mengtao Xu took the event with Shuang Cheng and Xin Zhang in second and third respectively.

In the Men's Aerials, Dmitri Dashinski of Belarus took the event ahead of China's Hang Zhou and Oleksandr Abramenko of Ukraine.

Norway was the venue on Saturday for the last Men's and Women's Aerials of the season.

China certainly celebrated the event in style, taking the top three spots in the women's event.

Xin Zhang finished third with an 86.46 point score awarded by the judges, while Shuang Cheng was given a total of 92.88 to go into the runner's-up spot.

The winner on the day however was Xu Mengtao with an impressive 97.29.

It was her fifth World Cup victory of the season.

Mengtao now lies in second place in the overall freestyle skiing rankings with 66 points but remains well behind moguls ace Hannah Kearney, who is streaking clear with 95.83.

The men's event had Oleksandr Abramenko of Ukraine taking third spot after his jump was awarded 102.70.

China's Hang Zhou came second with 114.81 points.

However, the winner on the day was Dmitri Dashinski of Belarus with 119.82 points.

It was a seventh straight top-ten finish for the 34-year-old but the first time Dashinski has topped the podium since 2007.

Dashinski moved up to sixth in the overall rankings with a total of 315 points while Canada's Olivier Rochon put the finishing touches to the season's title by finishing ninth in Norway.

Rochon sits in second in the overall freestyle skiing World Cup - well behind leader and moguls king Mikeal Kingsbury of Canada who will compete in Sunday's season-closing event in Megeve, France.
