Wednesday, March 07 2012 by SNTV

  • Intro:

The opening game in Group A of the Asian Champions League between Nasaf of Uzbekistan and the UAE's Al Jazira, at the Karshi Central Stadium at Karshi in Uzbekistan, was called off on Tuesday because of heavy snowfall.

The match will now be played on Wednesday.

    Script:

Nasaf were due to open their Asian Champions League campaign against the UAE's Al Jazira at the Karshi Central Stadium at Karshi in Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

But with a snowstorm over the ground, play in the Group A encounter looked unlikely.

The referee decided to delay the start time by 30 minutes, and then by an hour, but the snow was relentless and the game was eventually called off.

Iran's Esteghlal won 1-0 away to Qatar's Al Rayyan in the other Group A opening match.
