The FIS Junior World Ski Championships continued in Roccaraso, Italy on Tuesday, and this time it was the Women's Super-G.

Conditions were cold but sunny and Swiss racers dominated the early action.

Corinne Suter took the lead after clocking 1 minute 7.04 seconds over the 34-gate course, shaving almost half a second off the time set by USA's Abby Ghent.

Her stay at the top was short lived though.

The next competitor down, her compatriot Joana Haehlen, stopped the clock at 1 minute 7.02.

As the course rutted up, the early starters still held the advantage.

But bib number 34, Ragnhild Mowinckel bucked the trend by moving into second place between Haehlen and Suter with a time of 1 minute 7.03.

The podium seemed settled until another Norwegian, Annie Winquist, began her run.

Ahead at the first split time, Winquist held her nerve to put in a strong showing on the bottom half of the course, going on to break the 1-minute-7 barrier by a hundredth of a second.

Long-time leader Haehlen had her gold medal snatched away at the last, but it was joy for Norway with first and third places.

Norway leads with 58 points, followed by Switzerland on 56 and France on 34.
