The Olympic course in Kvitfjell, Norway hosted the Super-G World Cup event on Friday.

Norway's Kjetil Jansrud was the man on form ahead of the race, he'd finished top of the downhill training sessions on the previous two days.

The home favourite was unable to clinch a win as he narrowly missed out by just 0.03 seconds, when he finished in a time of 1 minute 32.38 seconds.

Austria's Klaus Kroell moved into the lead when he clocked a time of 1 minute 32.35 seconds and claimed his fifth World Cup race win in the process.

Kroell's time was equalled by Swiss skier Beat Feuz and it meant a first tied men's World Cup race since Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway and France's Cyprien Richard finished joint-top in a giant slalom in January 2011 in Adelboden, Switzerland.

Feuz's fifth World Cup win meant he moved into the overall World Cup lead on 1,140 points, five points ahead of Austrian Marcel Hirscher and 97 points in front of Croatian Ivica Kostelic, both of whom didn't compete in Kvitfjell on Friday.

Olympic champion Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway retained his lead in the Super-G World Cup standings, despite finishing fifth.

He's on 333 points, two points ahead of main rival, Switzerland's Didier Cuche, who finished fourth on Friday.

There are two races remaining, Kvitfjell will host the last super-G race on Sunday, before the World Cup finals in Schladming, Austria.
