Aleksander Ostreng sweeps Slopestyle

    Norway's Aleksander Ostreng claimed overall victory in the men's Slopestyle final, at the 13th edition of the TTR Burton European Open in Switzerland on Thursday.

    Ostreng finished with a total score of 90.08 to edge out Finland's Roope Tonteri into second place, with his fellow countryman Peetu Piiroinen third.

    Stunning views at the Alpine resort of LAAX in Switzerland, an appropriate backdrop for the equally stunning performances coming thick and fast at the Burton European Open.

    The men's Slopestyle finals the main event on Thursday.

    This display by Peetu Piiroinen handing him third place thanks to a score of 68.60 on his third run.

    That allowed the Finn to claim a share of the podium with an overall total of 86.70.

    Peetu's fellow Finn' Roope Tonteri had been held back in eighth position, but an impressive third run score of 81.42 allowed him to soar into contention.

    Evenually finishing second overall, with a combined total of 87.92.

    However the plaudits - and the overall win - belonged to Norway's Aleksander Ostreng.

    This fantastic exhibition added a third run score of 80.44 to his total, giving him victory on the day with the winning score of 90.08.
