Andreas Prommegger set up a duel with Austrian challenger, Manuel Veith, in the big final of the parallel grand slalom at Stoneham on Wednesday.

Poor visibility hampered both riders, but Prommegger got off to a marginally better - and the small advantage he held would prove to be crucial.

The pair were virtually neck and neck all the way down, but it was Prommegger who crossed the line first - 0.11 seconds quicker than Veith.

The victory further boosts Prommegger's chances of being crowned Parallel Giant Slalom champion by the end of the season.

The Austrian leads the standings with 4950 points ahead of Italy's Roland Fischnaller, who has 4690.

Swiss Nevin Galmarini took bronze with a comfortable victory in the small final.

In the women's competition, Russia's Ekaterina Tudegesheva was pitted against Julia Dujmovits of Austria in the big final - Tudegesheva establishing a clear advantage early on.

Dujmovits though began to claw back the deficit and there was little between the pair through the midway stage.

Tudegesheva though began to pick up the pace through the gates and emerged as a clear winner - coming home 0.48 seconds ahead of Dujmovits.

Switzerland's Julie Zogg came third by defualt after Amelie Kober pulled out injured.

Tudegesheva now jumps into top spot in the race to be crowned Parallel World Cup champion.
