Cristiano Ronaldo equalled Mexico legend Hugo Sanchez's league haul for Real Madrid by bagging his 164th 'La Liga' goal in Almería. He is now the joint fourth top goalscorer in the club's history.
Only three players now lie ahead of CR7 in the 'Los Blancos' league scoring stakes: Santillana (186), Di Stefano (216) and Raul (228).
Sanchez took 207 fixtures to reach the 164-goal mark, notching up 0.79 goals a game, while Ronaldo has achieved the milestone in 149 appearances, at a rate of 1.10 goals a match.
Ever since he drew a blank in the 'clasico' at the Camp Nou, Cristiano has been in unstoppable form, racking up 14 goals in 7 games. His total for the calendar year now stands at 67.
