Peterhead boss Neale Cooper may look to include Bobby Mann in his squad against fellow strugglers Dumbarton.
The defender has completed a second week of training after being out for nearly two months and could come back into the reckoning.
However, midfielder Nicky Clark and striker Connor Gethins have both been ruled out through injury.
Cooper said: "Bobby has an outside chance of playing and that would be great for us as we are a better team when he is organising our defence.
"It is a bit touch and go at the moment but we will have a look at him on Saturday lunchtime to see what he can do."
The Blue Toon boss added: "This is a massive game for us and for Dumbarton as the losers will be bottom of the table."
Dumbarton boss Jim Chapman wants his youngsters to put in a man's performance and come back from Peterhead with the win that will lift them off the foot of the Second Division table.
Former Dundee, Hamilton and Alloa winger Mark Gilhaney will return for the Sons after injury.
However Derek Carcary, Jon McShane and Graham Wilson have been ruled out with knocks.
Chapman said: "Our boys are applying themselves really well and have been unlucky on a number of occasions this season.
"This is a big game for us and we need big performances from our players.
"More importantly we probably need our players to take any chances that come our way as we are not converting chances at a good enough rate as yet."
