Murray through to quarters at Aegon Championships

  • Top seed Andy Murray beat fellow Briton Aljaz Bedene in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club on Thursday (16th June).

Top seed and four-time champion at the Aegon Championships, Andy Murray, took to the court in the second round to face fellow Briton Aljaz Bedene.

Under the watchful eye of returning coach Ivan Lendl, Murray looked comfortable from the get go as he continues his preparation for Wimbledon where he will be searching for a third Grand Slam title.

The 29-year-old was rarely troubled by his Slovenian-born opponent at Queen's Club as he secured the first set 6-3.

Incredibly, this was the first time in ten years that Murray was up against a fellow Brit at tour level, the last time being Tim Henman in Bangkok back in 2006.

The world number two closed out the second set and the match 6-3, 6-4 to progress to the quarter-finals where he can look forward to another all British clash against Kyle Edmund.
