  • Intro:

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana held their weight in Friday (12 September) ahead of their rematch Saturday night in Las Vegas.

    Script:

The weigh-in for Floyd Mayweather's fight with Marcos Maidana pulled a huge crowd in Las Vegas on Friday night.

The Argentinian is only the second fighter to face a rematch with the five-division champion.

And the Argentine has vowed to be even better than he was in what was a close first fight.

With Mayweather winning the first fight by a majority decision.

Maidana weighed in at 146 pounds, with Mayweather coming in at half a pound heavier.

The American was as bullish as ever when asked whether Maidana was the best he'd fought....

"Absolutely not, but he's a solid, strong competitor. He's a guy that I can not overlook. Take my time time, keep my composure and listen to my Dad's instructions."

Yet the Argentinian has a formidable knockout record 31 in his 35 victories and is determined to add Mayweather to that list....

"I'm very calm and happy today and I'm definitely going to try and change history and change Floyd Mayweather's record, that's what I'm going to do."

If Mayweather wins it will boost his perfect mark to 47-0. He could also stand to make more than $30 million, bringing his total in his last three fights to more than $100 million.
