Reigning US Open champion Justin Rose has revealed the perks of winning the tournament.

The World number eight said that his son ate some ice cream out of the trophy, which he now knows holds five bottles of champagne.

"About a week or two ago I put it on the dresser that we have in the bedroom. I thought that we are getting into the last few weeks I am really going to enjoy (having) it. Basically, every morning I woke up I would see it. I think the biggest perk of winning the US Open was sitting in the Royal Box at Wimbledon and watching Andy Murray win there. So that was a pretty special occasion. The most fun? A couple of fun facts. Leo (his son) ate some ice cream out of it. He was the first to christen the trophy. I hadn't even had a drink out of it and he was having ice cream out of it so I got some great video out of that which will I think will last a lifetime. There's some great memories and it holds five bottles of champagne - just FYI!"
