Dressed in a splendid shade of pink David Ferrer faced Teymuraz Gabashvili in the second round of the Miami Masters on Friday.

And after a tight first set, fourth seeded Ferrer powered through the second to wrap up a 6-4, 6-0 victory.

Elsewhere fifth seed Roger Federer progressed to the next round after beating big serving Croatian Ivo Karlovic.

Federer remained strong in his own service games, to win the match 6-4, 7-6 and increase his career head-to-head against Karlovic to 11-1.

Meanwhile Novak Djokovic continued his good form to ease past Jeremy Chardy 6-4, 6-3.

Djokovic, who won in Indian Wells last week, is a three-time Miami champion and will be confident of getting his hands on the trophy once more this year.
