    Wins for Radek Stepanek, Dominic Thiem and Marcos Baghdatis in the first round of the Miami Masters on Wednesday in Miami, USA.

    Some inevitably beautiful weather opened up the first day of the Miami Masters on Wednesday.

    The big news surrounding the tournament was still the fact that defending champion and British number one Andy Murray has split from his coach of 2 years Ivan Lendl.

    Lendl the man who helped Murray secure the 2012 US Open, the Olympic title and win Wimbledon in 2013.

    As well as Lendl, Juan Martin del Potro with be absent from the tournament.

    The Argentine has pulled out due to a wrist injury.

    During the day's play Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic beat Daniel Brands of Germany, in straight sets 6-3, 6-0.

    Stepanek will now face Andreas Seppi.

    Austria's Dominic Thiem had to work a little harder for his 7-6 (6), 6-4 win against Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic.

    Next up for him is Tommy Robredo.

    It was wild card entrant Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus who worked hardest of all for his win against Colombia's Santiago Giraldo.

    Baghdatis worked the crowd to fight back from a set down to win 1-6, 6-2, 7-5, to set up a meeting with Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber.
