    Script:

Novak Djokovic took on John Isner in the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in the United States on Saturday.

The first set was a tight affair with American Isner playing in front of his home crowd. Djokovic's boyhood idol was Pete Sampras and this thundering serve to edge the set would have made the American proud.

Isner stormed into a three nil lead in the second set tie break after this backhand winner.

The 28-year-old then got all of his six foot ten inch frame behind his trademark ace to win the set and pull level.

Isner's father is a builder but when he was broken by Djokovic early in the third set he was sinking quicker than cement.

Djokovic owns three restaurants and this ace won the match, 7-5, 6-7, 6-1. Roger Federer awaits in Sunday's final, when the Serbian will be hoping to taste Indian Wells success for the third time.
