World number two Novak Djokovic faced Julien Benneteau in the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells in America on Friday.

Another error by the Frenchman gifted the Serbian the first set.

In the second set, the relentless 26-year-old won this point with a ferocious forehand winner.

Eight years ago, Djokovic was beaten by Benneteau on his Indian Wells debut. Today, the Serbian won 6-1, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of this event for a fourth straight year.

American John Isner saved a set point in his quarter-final match against Ernests Gulbis before winning the opening set in a tie-breaker, to delight the Californian crowd.

The six foot 10 inch player dropped serve twice to fall behind in the second set, but he broke back to level the score before taking the tie-breaker with this backhand winner and the match 7-6, 7-6.

Isner lives in Florida, the home of the NFL's Miami Dolphins. He'll be hoping he's not out of his depth against Djokovic in the semi-final.
