Swiss pair Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka make an impact in the men's doubles at Indian Wells.

    Script:

The men's doubles competition at Indian Wells doesn't normally attract the biggest crowds, but stadium two was packed to the rafters on Friday as Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka reunited as a doubles team.

It was the first time they'd played together in 18 months but they it didn't show as they beat Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi 6-2, 6-7(4), 10-6.

They won gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics doubles and Federer admitted that playing togther came pretty naturally to the duo.

    SOUNDBITE (English) Roger Federer:

"For me, yeah. We (Federer and Wawrinka) did speak doubles a little bit, but it was just about being in the right mind set, knowing what we wanted to do. In doubles there's not much rhythm, it's a lot about serving and returning and just having good energy and we haven't seen (the draw) yet, but I hope they (their next opponents) are happy."
