Samantha Stosur of Australia beat fellow Grand Slam winner Li Na 6-4, 6-3 in Hong Kong.

It was the first of a series of matches to mark World Tennis Day.

World Tennis Day was marked at Hong Kong Velodrome.

And it was the women who served up first of two special matches at the venue,

Li Na, Asia's first Grand Slam champion, took on former US Open winner Sam Stosur of Australia.

Stosur never trailed in the first set, winning it 6-4 after a decisive break in the ninth game.

At three-all in the second set, Li lost her serve again - and her opponent quickly wrapped up a 6-4, 6-3 win.

The second match in Hong Kong will feature former men's number number one and two-time Grand Slam champion Australia's Lleyton Hewitt and current top 10 player Tomas Berdych from the Czech Republic.
