  • Intro:

Andy Murray was knocked out by Grigor Dimitrov and Kevin Anderson beat Alexandr Dolgopolov in the semi-finals in Acapulco.

    Script:

Grigor Dimitrov fought back from a set down to knock out number two seed Andy Murray to reach the final of the Mexican Open.

Murray won the first set 6-4 but the tide seemed to change when this rally saw Dimitrov go 2-1 up in the second. The Bulgarian went on to win the set 7-5 on a tie-break.

It was a lengthy match that went past two o'clock in the morning as the final set also went to a tie-break. Murray dug deep to force that but Dimitrov was at times in inspired form and won it 7-3 for his first ever win against the Scot.

The number four seed will face Kevin Anderson in the final after the South African beat Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Anderson took the first set 6-1, his big serve was dominant until the twelfth game of the second set when the Ukrainian broke for the first time to level the match.

Anderson responded immediately to break in the first game of the third set and went on to win it 6-4.

He was runner-up in his last tournament and will now hope to go one better after reaching back-to-back finals for the first time in his career.
