    Script:

The USA's Sam Querrey overcame a first round scare against local favourite Tigre Hank to advance at the ATP Mexico Open in Acapulco.

Querrey's something of a hard court specialist, however it was the Mexican qualifier who surprisingly took the first set on a tie-break.

The world number 56 bounced back to win the second 6-4, and after another couple of breaks in the decider, Querrey had a match point.

A disappointing smash from the qualifier handing the American his place in the next round.

Next up for Querrey will be either France's Stephane Robertson or Kevin Anderson.

Jeremy Chardy is also into the next round, the Frenchman enjoying a relatively comfortable win over Matthew Ebden.

Chardy was put under some pressure by the Australian in the first set, but looked upto the test.

The world number 46 breaking crucially in the 11th game before taking the first set 7-5.

The Mexican Open has switched to blue hard courts after 20 years on clay.

Chardy looked at home on the new surface, as he continued to control the match.

Ebden was no match for his experienced opponent - Chardy needing just over an hour to complete a comprehensive 7-5, 6-0 victory.
