Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka won the Chennai Open for the second time with a straight sets 7-5, 6-2 win over Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin on Sunday.

    Script:

2011 Chennai Open champion and tournament top seed Stanislas Wawrinka faced Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the final.

The first set was a tight affair, the third game lasted over 10 minutes in which Rogers-Vasselin defended four break points and managed to hold his serve.

Wawrinka finally broke in the eleventh game for a 6-5 lead and served for the set, which he duly obliged.

Despite some lengthy rallies in the second, Wawrinka's tail was up and he broke in the first game of the second set.

The Swiss man then broke again in the fourth game, and Vasselin looked to be down and out at 4-1.

The world number 8 finished off Roger-Vasselin with an ace, his fifth of the match, to clinch the second set 6-2, in a match which lasted an hour and 35 minutes.

Wawrinka avenged his defeat at the hands of Vasselin at last years Swiss Indoors in Basel and with it a morale boosting victory ahead of the upcoming Australian Open.
