  • Intro:

France and Poland were evenly poised at 1-1 after the singles matches in the Hopman Cup final on Saturday.

    Script:

Grzegorz Pnafil faced Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the first match of the Hopman Cup final.

Tsonga won the first set 6-3 in just 29 minute wrapping it up with an ace.

The Frenchman created seven break points in the second set but failed to capitalise, Pnafil, who is ranked 288th in the world, was more ruthless with his only break and took the second set 6-3.

The game had several bruising rallies, but ultimately it was the world number 10 who came out on top, as Tsonga won the third and deciding set 6-3 to give France a 1-0 lead.

Next on court was Alize Cornet and Agnieszka Radwanska.

A win for Cornet would seal the Hopman Cup for the French.

Radwanska, the world number 5, had other ideas as she won the first set 6-3.

Radwanska served for the second set and the match at 5-4 but was broken back in a game which lasted over 14 minutes with some lengthy rallies.

The set went to a tie-break, which World Number 27, Cornet won 9-7 to set up a third set.

Radwanska upped her tempo in the third set and won it 6-2 to make it 1-1 in the Hopman Cup final.

With the doubles still to play the tie is perfectly poised for a thrilling finale.
