  • Intro:

Frenchman Roger Vasselin reached the final of the Chennai Open with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win over Spaniard Marcel Granollers in their semi-final on Saturday.

    Script:

Seventh seed Roger Vasselin of France faced sixth seed Marcel Granollers in the semi-finals of the Chennai Open.

Vasselin hit this forehand winner to break the Spaniard to love and win the first set.

The tournament is an ATP250 event and is therefore a good chance for the not so glamorous names of tennis to get their name on a trophy.

Granollers, who is ranked 38th in the world, came storming back to win the second set 6-4 to set up a decider.

However 30-year-old Vasselin, who is 52nd in the World, clinched the third set 6-3 on his serve and advances to the final where he will either face Stanislas Wawrinka or Vasek Pospisil of Canada.
