Having won the inaugural Shenzhen Open last year, China's Li Na was looking to defend her title when she faced Peng Shuai in the 2014 final on Saturday.

Li, the world number three, made a perfect start, breaking Peng in the opening game, yet Peng clawed her way back to level at 2-2, only to suffer a break of serve at 4-4.

Li, served out the first set 6-4.

Just like the first, Li broke in the opening game with this unstoppable forehand down the line.

However, the World Number 42 wasn't going away and crucially held her serve in the third game.

Despite going down a double break, two successive breaks saw Peng pull level at 4-4.

Li raised her game though and forced her fellow country woman into an error to seal a 6-4, 7-5 victory.

It was a sixth win in seven career matches with her compatriot Peng - their previous meeting coming in the semi-final stage of last year's Shenzhen Open, which Li also won in straight sets.
