Bhambri, a wildcard for the tournament, had dispatched Fabio Fognini in the previous round, but he struggled from the outset against Pospisil. And the big serving Canadian took the opening set 6-3.
The second set unfolded in similar fashion with errors creeping into Bhambri's game as he struggled to contain his opponent.
The Canadian eventually picked up a 6-3 6-3 win to secure a place in the semi-finals.
