    Script:

Perhaps game of the day at the Brisbane Open came when Serbian World No 8 Jelena Jankovic faced World No 9, German Angelique Kerber.

The first set played out as tightly as their rankings suggested. Despite Jankovic serving for it 5-4, Kerber here taking the first set on a tie-break 10-8.

But the Serbian used all her experience in the second to force Kerber on the retreat, Jankovic here seemingly out of the point but winning it to take the third game.

The Former World No 1 took the second set with this line finder of a serve.

And from there never looked back. Jankovic went on to take the third and deciding set 6-1, with Kerber seemingly out played by the Serbian ranked one place above her.

The win sets up a semifinal with either second seed Victoria Azarenka or unseeded Stefanie Voegele
