  • Intro:

George Groves said he is going to beat Carl Froch via knockout despite being considered the underdog ahead of the fight.

    Script:

    SOUNDBITE: (English) George Groves:
"I am going to beat him via knockout, I don't know what round. I know he is a tough man and I am not going to predict a round but I will say that he will not hear the final bell."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) George Groves:
    (on being considered the underdog)
"Certainly it is fair because people will go on previous achievements - he has boxed at a higher level than me but, if you come down to a boxing sense then I think a lot of people who have actually studied both fighters will say I have got the advantage. It is just down to my temperament, can I hold it together? But, then again, if you look at the build up to this fight then who is the one who has held it together and who hasn't? He has been on the verge of tears on 'Ringside' (boxing TV show) where he is either that wound up or that frightened or scared. To be honest I think it is because he is that scared. He is looking for reassurance from his promoter and his team and everyone else. He needs them to tell him how great he is but I don't need that. What I need to do is look sharp on the night and show everyone how great I am. I think I am a good fighter. I look forward to fighting Carl Froch and I look forward to becoming world champion - and hopefully I plan to be the world champion for a long time."
