Rafael Nadal beat Tomas Berdych 6-4 1-6 6-3 on Friday (8th November) to make it three wins from three so far and send debutant Stanislas Wawrinka through to the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Finals in London

    Script:

Rafael Nadal was looking to secure the top spot in Group A, when he took on Tomas Berdych in his third match at the ATP World Tour Finals in London on Friday.

While Nadal was already assured of a place in the final four of the tournament, a win would have seen Berdych join him at that stage in the tournament at the expense of Stanislas Wawrinka.

Nadal was dominant on serve and Berdych was unable to create many opportunities.

With his formidable forehand used to good effect, Nadal duly took the opening set 6-4.

But the momentum changed significantly as the second set unfolded.

Incredibly, the world number one managed just four points in the first five games of the set.

Berdych took it 6-1 to force the match into a decider.

Two double faults gave Nadal the opportunity to break Berdych, and the Spaniard took the 6-4 1-6 6-3 win.

The result ensured that Nadal finishes top of the group.
