  • Intro:

Runners are preparing for the New York Marathon on Sunday (3 October), and many amateurs are racing to honour the victims of tragedies throughout the last year.

    Script:

"As the runners hit Columbus Circle for the final stretch to the finish line, they will look down and see that our traditional blue line is joined by a yellow line in honour of Boston. We hope that's a moment for everybody to remember Boston and to be inspired by the strength we saw in Boston."

"I'm trying to honour the victims in the marathon and raise money for the Stoneham victims. That will be on my mind right before I start the race, to when I start the race, as I'm going along the whole way. When the times are tough I'm going to imagine what they had to endure."

    Marriottsville, Maryland, USA.

"He's not physically present, he's always spiritually with her and this is just an amazing picture I think. So I'm definitely caring this with me to get me through."

"Just wanting to make Ben and Fran and everybody in the community of Newtown proud for this event."
