SOUNDBITE (English) Dusty Baker, Cincinnati Reds Manager
"Well it's very difficult, because it's like, it's like unbelievable actually. And our club has been through a lot of things on and off the field and our club stuck together. We realised that I guess now, we still got more work to do and we got some improvements to make. And I don't know, it's very difficult to come down to one game and especially the way we played. I mean we got outplayed big time."

SOUNDBITE (English) Clint Hurdle, Pittsburgh Pirates Manager
"Well yeah, it is gratifying. We're confident we can do it. All we talked about, we didn't talk about an execution game or an elimination game. We talked about one and run, one and run to St. Louis. In the meeting we had before, all we talked about is what we need to do to win the game. It was all about winning the game. It was all about taking it to the starter (Johnny Cueto), making him work. He's a good pitcher. He's got experience. Try and get some balls elevated, show some patience, everybody stepped in the box, through the first time through the line up showed up well. Frankie (Francisco Liriano) making pitches, we played good defense. We covered all the things you need to do to meet the demands of the game tonight.

SOUNDBITE (English) Marlon Byrd, Pittsburgh Pirates Rightfielder
"It's one of those things when I came over here, I wanted to be a piece of the puzzle. I wanted to fit in and these guys let me in quick. They let me in. They welcomed me with open arms. And it was so easy to fit in. It was so easy to slide in the line up, hitting fifth against righties, hitting fourth against lefties. A big thing, just not the acquisition of me, but Justin Morneau changing that line up presence. It's tough pitching this line up. One through, all the way through eight, you have guys that can hit. You have guys that can get the job done. So it was one of those things where this year, I had a good job, I did a good job against Cincinnati. And I played pretty good baseball down the stretch."
