    Script:

It's all change in Cuba, as a previously banned sport is about to be re-introduced.

The island is on the verge of bringing a major change, partially reversing a five-decade ban on professional boxing.

The potential move would follow a series of reforms initiated under President Raul Castro.

Along with all professional sports, Cuba prohibited professional boxing in 1961 shortly after the 1959 revolution.

Cuba is considering joining the semi-pro league known as World Series of Boxing, which was launched in 2010 by the International Boxing Association.

Amateur boxer Norlan Yera spoke of his excitement at the possible ruling:

SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Norlan Yera, Cuban National Team 56-Kilo amateur boxer:

"For me it means a lot because as a boxer I would like to participate in a league like that one and reach a great first place there and be recognised by the entire world."

While officials caution that no decision has been made yet, it could offer island boxers a chance to earn more money and sporting glory.
