The who's who of boxing were in Cancun, Mexico for the 50th convention of the World Boxing Council.

While many boxing names have lit up the sport in the last half century, one name shines as bright as a star.

Former heavy weight icon Muhammad Ali revolutionised the sport in the 60s and 70s and was honoured with the tittle of the "King of Boxing".

The event was attended by the head of the World Boxing Council along with former boxing champions such as Julio Cesar Chavez.

The 6 foot 3 Ali, won 56 out of his 61 professional fights, 37 of them by knockout.

Ali's verbal sucker-punches out of the ring were just as powerful as his fierce jabs.

The World Boxing meeting begins on Monday and will end on December the 8th.
