The triumphant San Francisco Giants returned home on Monday after claiming their second baseball World Series in three years with a 4-3 win against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday night.

The Giants recorded a clean sweep in the series after edging out the Tigers in Game 4.

The team will embarked on a victory parade on Wednesday but only after the city has cleaned up from the out of control celebrations which followed San Francisco's win.

Police arrested three dozen overly rowdy supporters while hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage was done in the wake of the game.

However, the majority of fans did celebrate without incident and hundreds of thousands of Giants supporters are expected to line the streets to pay tribute to their team on Wednesday.
