    Script:

Juan Martin del Potro won the Erste Bank Open in Vienna on Sunday.

The number one seed took on qualifer Grega Zemlja - the first Slovenian player to reach an ATP Tour final.

Del Potro was the beaten finalist here 12 months ago after losing to Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga - and was determined to go one better on this occasion.

Zemlja played some superb tennis and held his own in the early stages.

But despite plenty of bravery from the Slovenian player, it was the Argentine who won the big points, eventually securing the break of serve in the 12th game of the first set, to take it 7-5.

Zemlja seemed to run out of steam in the second and Del Potro took the title - winning the final 7-5, 6-3.

    SOUNDBITE: (English)

"yes I'm very happy to get this title here in Vienna after last year when I made the finals against (Jo-Wilfried) Tsonga. So, I'm very proud with my level, with my body with my wrist (he has recently come back from a wrist injury) and I'm looking forward to having a good end of season."
