    SOUNDBITE (English) Joe Girardi:
    Q. Joe, are you astounded that your offence has been held down as such as it has been? What do you tell your team going forward?
"I am, but you have to put it all behind you. What has happened has happened, and you have to find a way to score runs tomorrow. And you have your ace on the mound, and you see what happens. Win a game tomorrow, and then let's see what happens."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Jim Leyland:
    Q. Jim, just your thoughts on being up 3-0 in this thing now?
"Well, we are facing one of the best pitchers in baseball tomorrow. We have an excellent pitcher going for us. And obviously CC is one of the best in the business, so we have a lot of work ahead of us. This is a great team. I thought Joe Girardi did an unbelievable job handling his pitching staff tonight under adverse conditions. And losing your starter like that, I thought he was unbelievable. I thought he made every perfect move with his pitching.
They are going to be tough to beat. They are the New York Yankees. They are a great team. All teams at this time of year are hard to beat. They are hard to beat during the regular season. They are really hard to beat during the postseason. So we're fortunate, certainly, obviously. We put ourselves in a decent position, but that's all we have done."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Justin Verlander:
"It's great to be up 3-0. We've got to win one. But against this line up, against this team, you never know. I think the rest of the team takes the mentality that I took into this game. Being up 2-0 people asked me if I was comfortable and I said no because you've got to treat this as a must win. Every game in the post season in a must win. You've to to keep the momentum on your side. Hopefully we can go out there tomorrow and shut this thing down. If it doesn't happen then? Reset and go out the next day. Never take anything for granted in the post season. We've seen some crazy things happen in this game. Just try to win every single game one inning at a time."
