SOUNDBITE (English) Serena Williams, tennis singles and doubles gold medallist:
"I was ready for the match. Recently I've had some success against her, but I was ready for that. I mean, it was for me gold or silver, and I love gold. Gold is actually my favourite colour. So I wanted it. And when I stepped on the court that's all I thought about was that moment, and standing on the podium, and being there, and I stayed in that moment, and I was able to play just really well."

SOUNDBITE (English) Serena Williams, tennis singles and doubles gold medallist:
"I feel like I'm competing with everyone else out there pretty solid. I feel like I belong, I'm not tired, I'm enjoying myself. I'm having so much fun. I don't see an end for me at all. I try to focus on every day."

SOUNDBITE (English) Serena Williams, tennis singles and doubles gold medallist:
(asked if she will compete in Rio 2016)
"I'm glad you asked. I plan on being there, unless an act of god or something doesn't allow me to be there. And if it's god's will, I will be there".
