"I won the gold medal in Beijing Olympics and my ability has been proven by that. London Games are my last Olympics in my life. So I will enjoy the excitement and happiness brought by the Olympics, and I don't care too much about the result."

At the age of 31, Zou is ready to quit boxing to spend time with his new born son.

Zou made a breakthrough for Chinese boxing by claiming bronze in Athens in 2004 before going on to win the nation's first Olympic boxing gold medal four years ago.

Head of Chinese Boxing Association, Chang Jianping, fears for the future of the sport in China.

"If Zou Shiming retired, the situation of our men's boxing will be very difficult. What I mean is that it is not easy to find another boxer like Zou Shiming in China. Of course there might be another excellent boxer like Zou that can appear in the near future. I hope more and more Chinese young men will learn from the model set up by Zou Shiming and can catch up the world best level of boxing."

Zou will start his gold medal journey in London on August 4th.

His compatriots will be hoping he can become an Olympic hero again for one last time.
