  • Intro:

Gilles Muller has beaten beats Go Soeda to reach the final of the Atlanta Open.

It will be his first ATP final in seven years as he searches for that elusive title.

    Script:

Gilles Muller has beaten eighth-seed Go Soeda of Japan 6-4 6-3 in the semi-finals of the Atlanta Open.

A significant win for the man from Luxembourg, as it means he reaches his first ATP final in seven years.

He's still searching for his first ATP Tour title and on Sunday will face either top-seed John Isner or number four seed Andy Roddick, who are due to play each other later on Saturday.

Muller, who had 17 aces to only two from Soeda, lost both of his previous finals, also in the US, in Washington in 2004 and Los Angeles in 2005.

He's had his share of good fortune at this tournament however, advancing to the quarter-finals when second-seed Mardy Fish withdrew with a sprained right ankle.

Fish had been leading in the match when he was forced to retire in the second set.
